How does lifevac work?
LifeVac has a unique one-way valve that doesn’t allow any air to enter a choking victim on the downward motion, which makes it impossible for the obstruction to be pushed down further into the windpipe.

Studies Behind LifeVac
In this study, 90 medical students attempted three different methods to remove a blockage from a mannequin's airway.
LifeVac had a 99% success rate, abdominal thrusts had a 71% success rate, and Dechoker had a 72% success rate.
The conclusion of this study found that LifeVac was more successful at removing a blocked airway than either abdominal thrusts or the Dechoker method.

LifeVac has been rigorously tested on pressure by Retlif Testing Laboratories. They have tested 10 LifeVac devices on how much pressure they produce.

LifeVac has been tested by a group of researchers on a human body that was donated to science.
The team placed food obstructions of varying sizes in the airway and conducted 50 test trials with Life Vac. LifeVac worked 49 times out of 50. The one time it didn't work. On the second trial after making a better closed seal they still removed the obstruction.
